Prof Anton Anton
Minister of Energy, Romania
Prof. Dr. Eng. Anton Anton is the Minister of Energy. He is responsible for the entire activity of the ministry, an institution that he represents and engages in relations with other ministries and specialized bodies of the central public administration, other authorities, public institutions and central and local organizations, the institutions of the European Union and other international organizations.
He is a deputy in the Parliament of Romania.
He is a member of the Academy of Technical Sciences and of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts.
He was a member of CCCDI (Advisory Board for Research and Development and Innovation), chairman of the promotion committee for scientific-technical literature. He also served as President of CNSPIS (The National Council for Statistics and Forecasting in Higher Education), President of the Senate and Vice Rector of the Technical University of Civil Engineering, President of the National Authority for Scientific Research, President of the International Urban Fellows Association (IUFA) and President of the Engineering Sciences Commission. Anton Anton was also a member of the IUHER (Implementation Unit of Higher Education Reform) and a member of the CNCSIS (National Council of Scientific Research in Higher Education).
Anton Anton has also held the position of Minister of Education, Research and Youth, and of Secretary of State in the Ministry of Education and Research. He has published more than 7 books, one of which was awarded by the Romanian Academy with the Anghel Saligny Award – “Hydraulic Networks – Calculation and Optimization”. He published a series of 10 volumes of “Hydraulics of Environmental Engineering” – 10 volumes published at the Universitary Horizons Publishing House in Timișoara and published more than 100 articles in international and national magazines.
